Post getting a discharge, you have about 15 -30 days to intimate your insurer about the hospitalisation. Also, bear in mind that this time period can vary from insurer to insurer.
A few things you may need to know additionally are:
- Once you intimate your hospitalisation to your insurer, you will receive the claim number, which should be quoted for future reference
- Send in the claim form along with all original documents
- For any additional documents required, you insurer will contact within seven days of receiving the claim documents from you
- Insurer will pay you within 30 days of receiving all the documents
