fire

My house has been destroyed by fire. Can I go ahead and make the repairs and then claim for the damage caused?

Re: fire

Dear Sir ,

Once a claim is registered, a surveyor is deputed to do preliminary assessment of losses. The Insured is required to submit all the supporting documents
along with claim bill, basis which surveyor will finalize the final loss assessment. Claim once approved by the insurer, it will be processed subject to
submission of all the relevant documents

Hence we request you not to get the loss repaired before survey .

Re: fire

Companies honour claims only after the damage is assessed by their surveyor. It is advisable to wait till the assessment is completed before you do the repairs.
