I had taken a insurance policy last week. I need to undergo surgery now and my insurance company is refusing cashless. Why?

There is a waiting period for reimbursements or cashless after you buy a policy. Within that waiting period, your insurer might refuse the claim if they think it was a pre-existing disease.

Though policies generally have a waiting period, if your surgery is because of an accident or an emergency, you are eligible for cashless. If it is from a pre-existing disease, forget cashless. You won't even be able to claim any thing

Generally, all the Insurance Policies have certain waiting period before which you can't opt for cashless or claim your money. However, to lower your waiting period you can pay additional premium for your policy.
