You cannot change sum insured in midterm, not only sum insured you can't change any terms in midterm. Ofcourse in this medically inflated world available sum insured is not enough, i suggest you to go for top up plan will satisfy your medical need in emergency situation. You can check with some of the insurance company Including HDFCERGO provides best top up cover. Please go for it.
