 A family floater of Rs.5 lakhs is good to cover you and your family (you,your spouse and 2 dependent kids). This will cost you approx Rs. 20,000 per year.

 In my opinion, opting for an individual policy cover of up to Rs. 3 lakhs can be a good option. Also, at your age, do consider your health requirements so that you are fully covered.
