I recently was admitted to a government hospital and I was refused cashless. Why?

If the hospital is not under your insurance company's list of hospitals, then cashless will not be possible.

Insurance company need to make tie-ups with those hospitals to offer you cashless facility. Cashless facility is provided by all insurance companies if insured is hospitalized at any of their empanelled hospital. For non-network hospitals, insured has to pay the bills first and then claim for reimbursement.
