Is burglary cover mandatory for home insurance?

Fire cover is mandatory but burglary is not unless you have taken an additional cover for it.

Burglary cover is not mandated. You can take a separate add-on for it if you want. The premium for this reduces if you can prove you have taken adequate security precautions
